Social services – we’re here to help
All of us can sometimes be faced with difficult problems in our lives and need advice, support or someone to talk to. The municipality’s social services can offer support and care to anyone who needs it.
There is a law, the Social Services Act, that regulates what the social services have to offer. The social services have different activities directed at different target groups. These include elderly people, persons with disabilities and persons with various types of social, financial or mental problems.
There are several providers of social services. You can contact several of these providers directly. In some cases there is a legal requirement for a decision by an authority before social services are provided. The municipality’s Social services administration is the authority that makes those decisions.

You can always contact the Social services administration if you or someone close to you needs help from the social services. Situations that may require help include when a child may be coming to harm or when someone needs help to deal with addiction problems.

These opening hours apply throughout the year, regardless of when holidays occur. The only exceptions are Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve when the Social Care is open at 13.30-17.00.
